SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Thomas Couri of East Peoria, who passed
4 away on April 10, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri was born on March 24, 1924, in
6 Peoria; his parents were Mike and Kemla (Farrah) Couri; he
7 married Jeanette Kouri on May 4, 1948, in Peoria; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri was graduate of Spalding Institute;
9 he earned a Purple Heart during World War II while serving his
10 country in the United States Army; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri was a co-owner of Couri's Food Town
12 in East Peoria and later Couri's Fast License Service; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri was a lifetime member of the Itoo
14 Society and a member of Sacred Heart Church; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri was preceded in death by his parents;
16 his 4 brothers; and his 3 sisters; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Thomas Couri is survived by his wife; his sons,
18 Michael (Vickie) and Robert (Kathy); his daughters, Karen
19 (Fred) Clark, Janice (Ray) Martin, Tricia (Jeff) Lambrich,

1 Debra (Bill) Spears, Jeannine (George) Jacob, Beth (Ed) Olehy,
2 Sue Couri, and Cindy (Lester) Behrends; his 23 grandchildren;
3 his 6 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Robert (Helen) and
4 Mike Jr. (Margaret); and his sister, Cecilia Maroon; therefore,
5 be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Thomas Couri; and be it
9 further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Thomas Couri as an expression of our
12 sympathy.
