SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of United States Army Specialist Kyle James
4 Wright of Romeoville, who gave his life to his country in
5 support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Kandahar Air Field,
6 Afghanistan, on January 13, 2010; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Kyle Wright was a 2006 graduate of Romeoville High
8 School; he attended Timber Ridge Middle School and Plainfield
9 High School before transferring to Romeoville High School; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Kyle was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st
11 Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd
12 Infantry Division out of Fort Lewis, Washington; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Kyle went through intensive Arabic language
14 training at the Defense Language Institute at Fort Lewis as
15 part of his service; he was deployed to Afghanistan in July of
16 2009; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Kyle's grandfather, 1st Sergeant Ruben John
18 Wright, served in the United States Army during World War II,
19 Korea, and the Vietnam War; his father served as a medic in the
20 United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division; and

1     WHEREAS, He is survived by his parents, Lynn (James) Perry,
2 and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wright; his sisters, Krystal (Sergeant
3 Zachary) Greene, Kelly Wright, and stepsister Kayla (Dean)
4 Perry; his stepbrothers Justin Rhodes, Tom Perry, and Eric
5 Perry; his grandmother, Joyce Wright; and his two nephews;
6 therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of
10 United States Army Specialist Kyle Wright; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Specialist Kyle
12 Wright and his willingness to serve his country, which led to
13 him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of United States Army Specialist Kyle
16 Wright as a symbol of our sincere sympathy and respect.
