SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Ann M. "Toots" Zupec of Vernon Hills, who
4 passed away on October 24, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born July 26, 1921, in Chicago; she
6 married Victor Zupec on August 30, 1946, at Mother of God
7 Church in Waukegan; and
 
8     WHEREAS, She retired from St. Therese Hospital as a clerk
9 in medical records on May 1, 1985, after 17 years of
10 employment; she was originally a member of Mother of God Church
11 in Waukegan, and presently a member of St. Dismas Church in
12 Waukegan; she was a member of the St. Ann's Society KSKJ, St.
13 Mary's Lodge #79, Catholic Women's Club, AARP, and the Retired
14 Steel Worker's Club; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was an avid bowler, golfer, bingo player,
16 reader, and loved to travel with her senior friends; Ann will
17 be sadly missed by her friends at Spring Meadows in
18 Libertyville "Happy Hour" and her current friends at Hawthorne
19 Lakes in Vernon Hills; and
 
20     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor;
21 her twin daughter in infancy, Mary Margaret; her

1 great-granddaughter, Kaitlin; her four brothers, John,
2 William, Robert, and Louis Kovacek; and her three sisters,
3 Josephine Kovacek, Sylvia Brown, and Margie Kovacek; and
 
4     WHEREAS, She is survived by her daughter, Audrey (Gene)
5 Morani; her sons, Greg (Kathy) Zupec and Larry (Kim) Zupec; her
6 grandchildren, Keith (Stacey) Zupec, Todd (Tara) Zupec, Tina
7 Zupec, Scott (Jamie) Zupec, Karen (Andrew) Ladendorf, Beth
8 Zupec, and Gina and Lisa Morani; her great-grandchildren, Ryan
9 and Kyle, Dane, Ben, Abby, and Olivia; her brothers, Albert
10 Kovacek and Edward Kovacek; her two dear sisters-in-law, Joan
11 Zupec and Eve Zupec; as well as many nieces and nephews;
12 therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 her family and friends, the passing of Ann Zupec; and be it
16 further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of Ann M. "Toots" Zupec as a symbol of
19 our sincere sympathy.
