SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Steve Hervoy of Beach Park, who passed
4 away on July 26, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on January 25, 1933 in North Chicago,
6 the son of the late Valentine and Barbara Hervoy; he attended
7 Mother of God Grade School and Waukegan High School; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was a proud veteran of the Korean War, serving
9 in the United States Marine Corps; he worked at many different
10 places, including Acme Brick, where he retired; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Teamsters Local #301,
12 Gurnee American Legion Post 771, St. Joseph K.S.K.J., and the
13 Zion-Benton Moose; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He enjoyed working on cars and raced cars at
15 Waukegan Speedway in his early days; after his retirement he
16 would make the rounds at the local restaurants to catch up on
17 the news; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his
19 son, Steven; his brothers, Frank and Robert; and his parents;
20 and

1     WHEREAS, Steve Hervoy is survived by his daughter, Cynthia
2 (Richard) Denikas; his grandsons, Andrew Stephen Thomsen and
3 Zackery Denikas; his brothers, William (Ruth) and Joseph; and
4 his sister, Barbara Leary; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7 his family and friends, the passing of Steve Hervoy; and be it
8 further
 
9     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10 presented to the family of Steve Hervoy as a symbol of our
11 sincere sympathy.
