| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Wanda Marzahl for | ||||||
| 4 | receiving the "2010 Most Dedicated Blood Drive Coordinator | ||||||
| 5 | Award" from the Illinois Coalition of Community Blood Centers; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, For over 25 years Wanda Marzahl has played a | ||||||
| 8 | significant role in ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply | ||||||
| 9 | for her community; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Wanda Marzahl volunteered to coordinate her first | ||||||
| 11 | blood drive on behalf of the Rock River Valley Blood Center at | ||||||
| 12 | Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Harvard, held on | ||||||
| 13 | December 12, 1984, and where 66 units of blood were collected; | ||||||
| 14 | and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Since her first blood drive was such a success, | ||||||
| 16 | Wanda Marzahl coordinated two blood drives for the Rock River | ||||||
| 17 | Valley Blood Center again in 1985; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, In 1986, Wanda Marzahl expanded her volunteerism, | ||||||
| 19 | hosting three blood drives a year; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Since 1996, Wanda Marzahl has been hosting 4 blood | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | drives a year in Harvard; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Wanda hosts one of her drives in December, one of | ||||||
| 3 | the most difficult months to collect blood; she incorporates a | ||||||
| 4 | "Toys for Tots Drive" to further benefit those in need in her | ||||||
| 5 | community; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Wanda has served as the Chairperson of 92 blood | ||||||
| 7 | drives and is responsible for the collection of 5,165 pints of | ||||||
| 8 | blood; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, In 2010 the Rock River Valley Blood Center | ||||||
| 10 | nominated Wanda Marzahl as the "Most Dedicated Blood Drive | ||||||
| 11 | Coordinator" in a State-wide competition hosted by the Illinois | ||||||
| 12 | Coalition of Community Blood Centers;
therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 14 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 15 | commend Wanda Marzahl for her years of service and commitment | ||||||
| 16 | to the community and wish her continued success with her blood | ||||||
| 17 | drive collection efforts; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Wanda Marzahl as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 20 | esteem.
