HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lieutenant Colonel
4 John H. Gingrich VI, on his retirement from the United States
5 Army; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich served in the ROTC for
7 4 years and graduated from Indiana State University; he became
8 a commissioned officer in May of 1988 and served a total of 22
9 years; his retirement date is scheduled for October 1, 2010;
10 and
 
11     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich has served in Korea,
12 Fort McClellan in Alabama, West Point, Fort Leavenworth in
13 Kansas, Heidelberg, Germany, Iraq, and Scott Air Force Base in
14 Illinois; and
 
15     WHEREAS, "They also serve who stand and wait" took on a
16 special meaning for the family of Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich,
17 who had just joined him in Germany when he was seconded to
18 Iraq; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich concludes his career
20 at Scott AFB as the Executive officer to the J6; and

1     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich received many awards
2 and decorations during his years of Army service, including the
3 Iraq Campaign Medal, the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, and
4 the Bronze Star; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Gingrich will enjoy his
6 retirement along with his wife, Paula, and their daughters,
7 Meghan, Rachel, Sarah, and Hannah; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel John H. Gingrich VI is to be
9 commended for his years of service to his country, for his
10 loyalty to his family, and for his willingness to sacrifice for
11 the lives of others; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 congratulate Lieutenant Colonel John H. Gingrich VI on his
15 retirement and wish him the best in all his future endeavors;
16 and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Lieutenant Colonel John H. Gingrich VI as a symbol
19 of our admiration and esteem.
