HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of The Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Joliet Junior
4 College Men's Basketball team, the Wolves, on winning the NJCAA
5 Division III National Championship; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The Wolves claimed the title with a 94-82 victory
7 over Minnesota's Rochester Community and Technical College;
8 the Division III national tournament was held at the State
9 University of New York in Delhi on March 13, 2010; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Head Coach Joe Kuhn has compiled a 293-137
11 coaching record at Joliet Junior College over the last 13
12 seasons; he received the NJCAA Division III Coach of the Year
13 award, Region IV Coach of the Year, and N4C Conference Coach of
14 the Year accolades this season; and
 
15     WHEREAS, This is the first national title for the team
16 since 1994; during the National Championship, Brian Bradley
17 received the MVP award and Jon Bartlett earned a spot on the
18 all-tournament team; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The Head Coach is Joe Kuhn; the Assistant Coaches
20 are Keith Kinzler, Zach Pucel, and Erik Walton; the Student
21 Assistants are Tyler Evans and Eric Garcia; the Director of

1 Athletics is Wayne L. King, Jr.; the President of Joliet Junior
2 College is Dr. Gena Prouiz; and the Athletic Trainers are
3 Candice Kubeck and Nate Seville; and
 
4     WHEREAS, The members of the Wolves are: Brian Bradley,
5 Lennell Pierce, Reggie Lemon, Justin Reed, Brandon Redmond, Pat
6 Devine, Andy Supergan, Alex Applebee, Nathan Swarts, Jon
7 Bartlett, and Max Chapman; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 congratulate the Joliet Junior College Men's Basketball team on
11 winning the National Championship and wish them continued
12 success in all their future endeavors; and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Head Coach Joe Kuhn as a symbol of our respect and
15 esteem.
