| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives are pleased to honor Anthony (Tony) Pintozzi, | ||||||
4 | Sr., founding member of the Northern Illinois Painting and | ||||||
5 | Drywall Institute, for his tireless dedication, hard work, and | ||||||
6 | years of service; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, The Northern Illinois Painting and Drywall | ||||||
8 | Institute (NIPDI) was officially formed on December 21, 1978; | ||||||
9 | the first three NIPDI Trustees were Larry Nedrow, Anthony | ||||||
10 | Pintozzi, Sr., and Morris Svendsen; NIPDI was created by the | ||||||
11 | Northeast Illinois Chapter Painting and Decorating Contractors | ||||||
12 | of America in agreement with Painters District Council No. 30; | ||||||
13 | and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Tony Pintozzi, Sr., continued to serve NIPDI in | ||||||
15 | the capacity of Trustee throughout much of its 31 years up to | ||||||
16 | this very day, whose industry experience and historical | ||||||
17 | perspective have proved to be most valuable to the NIPDI | ||||||
18 | organization; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Pintz & Company Decorators was founded by Tony C. | ||||||
20 | Pintozzi, Sr., in 1952; He lived and worked in the city of | ||||||
21 | Chicago and performed interior and exterior residential | ||||||
22 | painting; in 1954, Tony moved to McHenry and operated the |

1 | business out of the basement of his house; his brother Chuck | ||||||
2 | Pintozzi, joined as his partner that same year; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, In 1965 they changed the name of the company to | ||||||
4 | International Decorators, Inc.; in 1969 they decided to get | ||||||
5 | into the residential drywall business; in 1975 they started | ||||||
6 | installing metal stud framing and the Commercial Drywall | ||||||
7 | division was formed; with the expanding business, Tony and | ||||||
8 | Chuck moved the business into a larger facility (still in | ||||||
9 | McHenry) in 1978; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, 1988 brought more changes for the company, with a | ||||||
11 | move into a larger facility in Lake County and starting the | ||||||
12 | Accoustical Ceiling Division; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, In 1996 Anthony Pintozzi, Jr., Randy Freund, and | ||||||
14 | Bill Preston bought the company from Tony and Chuck; therefore, | ||||||
15 | be it
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
17 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
18 | honor Anthony Pintozzi, Sr., for his years of service and | ||||||
19 | dedication to the industry, and wish him all the best for the | ||||||
20 | future; and be it further

21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

2 | and esteem.
