HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Frank and Cynthia 
4
Moscowitz on the occasion of their 80th birthdays and their 
5
57th wedding anniversary; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Frank Moscowitz was born on February 14, 1930, in 
7
Chicago; he attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from 
8
Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim in Brooklyn, New York and Roosevelt 
9
University in Chicago; he served his country with pride and 
10
distinction as a member of the United States Armed Forces in 
11
Germany from 1947 to 1948; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Cynthia Moscowitz was born on November 18, 1929, 
13
in Chicago; she attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated 
14
from Purdue University; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, Frank and Cynthia Moscowitz have both had long and 
16
distinguished careers in education; Frank served as a teacher 
17
at Boone School in Chicago from 1952 to 1969 and as a Hebrew 
18
teacher at Congregation Agudas Chabad, Congregation Mishne 
19
Ugumorah, and Congregation Bnei Ruven from 1952 to 1968; he 
20
also served as principal of Gershwin School from 1969 to 1988 
21
and as Principal of Secular Studies at HTC Yeshiva High School 
22
from 1968 to 1974; Cynthia served as a teacher in the Chicago

Public School system from 1951 to 1954 and at Chase School from 
2
1970 to 1994; and
  
 
3
    WHEREAS, Frank and Cynthia Moscowitz has been members of 
4
numerous community organizations; Frank is a member of the 
5
Chicago Principals and Administrators Association, the 
6
National Association of School Administrators, the Lubavitch 
7
Chabad of Illinois, and the Hapoel Hamizrachi of Chicago; 
8
Cynthia has been a member of Neshei Chabad, the Lubavitch 
9
Chabad of Illinois, and the Hapoel Hamizrachi of Chicago; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Frank and Cynthia Moscowitz are the parents of 4 
11
sons, the grandparents of 28, and the great-grandparents of 32; 
12
therefore, be it
  
 
13
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15
congratulate Frank and Cynthia Moscowitz on the occasion of 
16
their 80th birthdays and their 57th wedding anniversary and 
17
wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be it 
18
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20
presented to Frank and Cynthia Moscowitz as a symbol of our 
21
esteem and respect.
