HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of 
4
Toastmasters International District 30 on the occasion of the 
5
commencement of the District's 2009 Fall Conference; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Toastmasters International is the leading 
7
movement devoted to making effective communication a worldwide 
8
reality; through its member Clubs, Toastmasters International 
9
helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening, and 
10
thinking, which are critical skills in an ever-changing world; 
11
and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, The mission of a Toastmasters Club is to provide a 
13
mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which 
14
every member has the opportunity to develop communication and 
15
leadership skills, which, in turn, foster self-confidence and 
16
personal growth; The District's mission is to enhance the 
17
performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering 
18
greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the 
19
Toastmasters educational program; and
  
 
20
    WHEREAS, The members of Toastmasters International 
21
District 30 will hold their annual Fall Conference on November 
22
13-14, 2009, at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore in Skokie;

    WHEREAS, Toastmasters International and its numerous 
3
member Clubs provide an invaluable service to the people of the 
4
State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
congratulate the members of Toastmasters International 
8
District 30 on the occasion of the commencement of the 
9
District's 2009 Fall Conference and wish them continued success 
10
in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12
presented to Michael Gougis, District Governor of Toastmasters 
13
International District 30, and the officers and members of 
14
Toastmasters International District 30.
