| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of Boy |
| 4 |
| Scout Troop 66 in River Forest on the occasion of the Troop's |
| 5 |
| 75th anniversary on August 1, 2009; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 66 is a vibrant Troop of over 50 |
| 7 |
| scouts and a dozen leaders; the Troop regularly honors and |
| 8 |
| carries the American flag in numerous parades and civic |
| 9 |
| ceremonies; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 66 has served its community, its |
| 11 |
| nation, and the world through various service projects, |
| 12 |
| including the establishment of the Oak Park Humane Society, the |
| 13 |
| collection and shipping of needed bicycles to developing |
| 14 |
| counties, and the construction of a sandbag levee to stop the |
| 15 |
| flooding of the Des Plaines River; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Over the past 75 years, Boy Scout Troop 66 has |
| 17 |
| helped 80 young men become Eagle Scouts, the highest rank in |
| 18 |
| Scouting; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 66 has served as a model of civic |
| 20 |
| awareness and charity for Boy Scout Troops around the world and |
| 21 |
| the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
