HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the men and women 
4
of Itasca Fire Protection District No. 1 as they celebrate the 
5
100th anniversary of the District; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The District is comprised of a board of trustees, 
7
a board of fire commissioners, the fire chief, assistant fire 
8
chief, three fire lieutenants, 24 full-time firefighters and 
9
paramedics, eleven paid on-call firefighters, an 
10
administrative assistant, a part-time secretary, and a 
11
chaplain; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, The District covers a 6.5 square mile area and 
13
includes portions of Itasca, Addison, and Wood Dale, as well as 
14
unincorporated areas; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The District staffs an engine, an advanced life 
16
support ambulance, and an aerial truck or tower; it also 
17
maintains a reserve rescue squad, a reserve advanced life 
18
support ambulance; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, The District receives just under 2,000 EMS and 
20
fire calls a year; and

    WHEREAS, The fire station is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days 
2
a week, and 365 days a year and is ready to respond to any 
3
emergency that may arise; therefore, be it

 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the men and women of Itasca Fire Protection 
7
District No. 1 on this centennial celebration and thank them 
8
for their hard work and dedication to the community; and be it 
9
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the men and women of Itasca Fire Protection 
12
District No. 1 as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
