2 | WHEREAS, On December 11, 2008, the Williamsville Junior | ||||||
3 | High School Girls 7th Grade basketball team, the Bee-Bees, won | ||||||
4 | the IESA Girls Seventh Grade Class 3A State Basketball | ||||||
5 | Tournament, defeating Marshall Junior High School with a 39-16 | ||||||
6 | final score; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, The 2008 team was the first basketball team in | ||||||
8 | Williamsville Junior High School's history to win a State | ||||||
9 | championship title; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Due to the leadership of Coach Jess Buttry and | ||||||
11 | Assistant Coach Joe Fandel, the team was able to achieve an | ||||||
12 | overall season record of 25-2; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, The Bee-Bees set several new State tournament | ||||||
14 | records by scoring the most points in tournament play (132 | ||||||
15 | points), setting the largest single game point margin (32 | ||||||
16 | points), allowing the fewest points in a title game (16), and | ||||||
17 | setting the largest point margin in a title game (23 points); | ||||||
18 | in addition, team member Jordan French set a record for most | ||||||
19 | individual points in a tournament game (19); and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, The Williamsville Junior High School Girls 7th | ||||||
21 | Grade basketball team outscored their opponents 1,031 to 455 |

1 | during the season and gave up an average of only 15 points per | ||||||
2 | game; and

3 | WHEREAS, Williamsville Junior High School Girls 7th Grade | ||||||
4 | basketball team members Emily Capranica, Rebecca Davis, Brandi | ||||||
5 | Donnelly, Halston Fletcher, Caleigh Franklin, Jordan French, | ||||||
6 | Kristin Gardner, Hannah Rutschke, and Clair Stoecker became the | ||||||
7 | IESA Girls Seventh Grade Class 3A State Champions by always | ||||||
8 | practicing the three "D's" of dedication, determination, and | ||||||
9 | defense, along with a lot of hard work; therefore, be it
| ||||||
10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
11 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
12 | congratulate the members of the Williamsville Junior High | ||||||
13 | School Girls 7th Grade basketball team on the occasion of | ||||||
14 | winning the IESA Girls Seventh Grade Class 3A State Basketball | ||||||
15 | Tournament and wish them continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
16 | future; and be it further
