Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the driver's license of a person with one or more outstanding arrest warrants shall be suspended by the Secretary of State at all times while the arrest warrant or warrants are outstanding. Provides that the Secretary of State may cross-reference any of its databases with the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) to determine whether drivers have outstanding warrants.

| AN ACT concerning transportation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 6-205.5 as follows: |

| (625 ILCS 5/6-205.5 new) |

| Sec. 6-205.5. Suspension of driver's license of person with |
8 |
| outstanding warrants. The driver's license of a person with one |
9 |
| or more outstanding arrest warrants shall be suspended by the |
10 |
| Secretary at all times while the arrest warrant or warrants are |
11 |
| outstanding. The Secretary may cross-reference any of its |
12 |
| databases with the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) |
13 |
| under Section 2605-375 of the Department of State Police Law of |
14 |
| the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to determine whether |
15 |
| drivers have outstanding warrants.
