AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4681

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4681 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by
5 changing Section 3-645 as follows:
 
6     (625 ILCS 5/3-645)
7     Sec. 3-645. Vietnam Veteran License Plates.
8     (a) In addition to any other special license plate, the the
9 Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and applications
10 made in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State, may
11 issue Vietnam Veteran license plates to residents of Illinois
12 who meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the Secretary
13 of State. The special Vietnam Veteran plate issued under this
14 Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles of the
15 first division, motorcycles, and motor vehicles of the second
16 division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued

1 under this Section shall expire according to the staggered
2 multi-year procedure established by Section 3-414.1 of this
3 Code.
4     (b) The design, color, and format of the plates shall be
5 wholly within the discretion of the Secretary of State. The
6 Secretary may, in his or her discretion, allow the plates to be
7 issued as vanity plates or personalized in accordance with
8 Section 3-405.1 of this Code. The plates are not required to
9 designate "Land Of Lincoln", as prescribed in subsection (b) of
10 Section 3-412 of this Code. The Secretary shall prescribe the
11 eligibility requirements and, in his or her discretion, shall
12 approve and prescribe stickers or decals as provided under
13 Section 3-412.
14     (c) An applicant shall be charged a $15 fee for original
15 issuance in addition to the applicable registration fee. This
16 additional fee shall be deposited into the Secretary of State
17 Special License Plate Fund.
