Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the registry of health care professionals shall be accessed for the planning for the possibility of an act of bioterrorism or other
public health emergency.

| AN ACT concerning public health.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
5 |
| Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by changing Section 2310-145 as follows: |
7 |
| (20 ILCS 2310/2310-145)
|

| Sec. 2310-145. Registry of health care professionals. The |
9 |
| Department of Public Health shall
maintain a registry of all |
10 |
| active-status health care professionals,
including nurses, |
11 |
| nurse practitioners, advanced practice nurses, physicians,
|
12 |
| physician assistants, psychologists,
professional counselors, |
13 |
| clinical professional counselors, and pharmacists. |
14 |
| The registry must consist of information shared between the |
15 |
| Department of Public Health and the Department of Financial and |
16 |
| Professional Regulation via a secure communication link. The |
17 |
| registry must be updated on a quarterly basis. |
18 |
| The
registry shall be accessed in the event of an act of |
19 |
| bioterrorism or other
public health emergency or for the |
20 |
| planning for the possibility of such an event .
