| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 594
|

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 594 on page 10, by |
| 3 |
| inserting immediately below line 9 the following: |
| 4 |
| "(5) Aggravated battery under subsection (d-6) is a |
| 5 |
| Class 1 felony if: |
| 6 |
| (A) the person used or attempted use a dangerous |
| 7 |
| instrument while committing the offense; or |
| 8 |
| (B) the person caused great bodily harm or |
| 9 |
| permanent disability or disfigurement to the other |
| 10 |
| person while committing the offense; or
|
| 11 |
| (C) the person has been previously convicted of a |
| 12 |
| violation of subsection (d-6) under the laws of this |
| 13 |
| State or laws similar to subsection (d-6) of any other |
| 14 |
| state.".
