Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Chicago Park District Act and the Illinois International Port District Act. Requires the transfer of a specified parcel of land from the Illinois International Port District to the Chicago Park District for recreational and conservation purposes (40 acres on the eastern shore of Lake Calumet). Provides that the Chicago Park District and the Illinois International Port District may, by mutual agreement, determine the terms and conditions of the property transfer. Requires that the property transfer occur as soon as possible after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Further amends the Chicago Park District Act and the Illinois International Port District Act. Deletes provisions that provide that the Chicago Park District and the Illinois International Port District may, by mutual agreement, determine the terms and conditions of the property transfer. Requires that the property transfer must occur as soon as possible, but no later than one year, after the effective date of the amendatory Act.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Downstate Public Transportation Act, Metropolitan Transit Authority Act, Local Mass Transit District Act, and Regional Transportation Authority Act. Requires that seniors must be aged 65 or older, as well as eligible for benefits under the Senior Citizens and Disabled Persons Property Tax Relief and Pharmaceutical Assistance Act, to receive free service. Provides that the requirement must be imposed no later than 180 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides that the Department of Aging shall furnish all information necessary to establish eligibility for free service. Effective immediately.
