| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Thomas J. Rode of Fox Lake, formerly of |
| 4 |
| Brookfield, who passed away on October 2, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on April 2, 1945 in Berwyn to Raymond |
| 6 |
| and Helen (nee Zuetel) Rode; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a tool and die maker by profession and |
| 8 |
| worked for various manufacturing companies in the Chicagoland |
| 9 |
| suburbs; he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for over 40 |
| 10 |
| years; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He enjoyed traveling and dancing and spending time |
| 12 |
| with his family and friends; his hobbies included miniature |
| 13 |
| ship building; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 15 |
| sister, Leah; his infant sister, LaNorma; his brother-in-law, |
| 16 |
| Dennis Gerrietts; and his beloved dog, Fido; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Thomas Rode is survived by his brother, Jim; his |
| 18 |
| sisters, Loralee Gerrietts and Joy (Bruce) Stuckey; his nieces |
| 19 |
| and nephews; and his niece and goddaughter, Christine (Tom) |
| 20 |
