| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Matthew Roy Allen of Waukegan, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on September 25, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born February 4, 1977, in Waukegan;
Matthew |
| 6 |
| was a kind, genuine soul who loved and was loved by all people |
| 7 |
| he came into contact with; he was a poet at heart, whose talent |
| 8 |
| for the written word inspired those who loved him; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, His favorite pastimes included spending time with |
| 10 |
| his two children, Jeffrey and Caitlin, who brought sheer joy to |
| 11 |
| Matthew's life, playing guitar with his brother William Allen, |
| 12 |
| and humbly composing poems; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Matthew was preceded in death by his father, |
| 14 |
| William Jeffrey Allen; his grandfathers, William Claude Allen |
| 15 |
| and Roy Eugene Robinson; and his brother, Jonathan Miller; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Matthew is survived by his devoted mother, Laura |
| 17 |
| Allen; his beautiful children, Jeffrey and Caitlin Allen; his |
| 18 |
| brothers, William Allen and Christopher Miller (Jennifer); his |
| 19 |
| nieces, Krystin Allen, Stephanie Miller, Alexis Miller, and |
| 20 |
| Julianne Miller; and his grandmothers, Laura Lorenz and Elsie |
| 21 |
