| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Steve Kennedy of Winthrop Harbor, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on September 24, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born July 11, 1956 in Waukegan; he attended |
| 6 |
| church at The Well Ministries in Winthrop Harbor; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a firefighter all of his life, including |
| 8 |
| serving as a volunteer for the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department; |
| 9 |
| he was a paramedic for the Winthrop Harbor Rescue Department; |
| 10 |
| he was a paramedic for the Zion Rescue Department; he was a |
| 11 |
| fireman, working his way up to Captain and Acting Chief for the |
| 12 |
| Fort Sheridan Fire Department; and he concluded his career at |
| 13 |
| Great Lakes Fire Department in 2001; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father and mother, |
| 15 |
| Gerald Kennedy and Grace Townsend Kennedy; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy is survived by his fiancée, Brenda |
| 17 |
| Alexander; his daughters, Kristina Kennedy and Hannah Kennedy; |
| 18 |
| his two grandchildren, Kayla Kennedy and Shaynna Strait; his |
| 19 |
| four sisters, Geraldine Gray, Terry Kennedy, Sherry Kennedy, |
| 20 |
| and Mary (Jerry) Powles; and his ex-wife, Penny (Larry) |
| 21 |
| Erickson; therefore, be it
