SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donna Jean Herr of Collinsville, who passed away on September 16, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born April 1, 1956, in Inglewood, California; she was a registered nurse and was currently working at St. Louis County Correctional Facility; she also worked many years at St. Louis University Hospital; she married Jeffrey A. Herr on May 14, 1989, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville; and

WHEREAS, She was the co-owner of Jeff Herr's Cullop Jennings Florist in Collinsville since 1992; she was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Collinsville Junior Service Club; and

WHEREAS, She was a 1974 graduate of Collinsville High School and a 1978 graduate of Maryville College with an Associate Degree in nursing; she was a master gardener through the University of Illinois Extension; she will be remembered for the love of her family and the special times shared with her children; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Perucca; and

WHEREAS, Donna Jean Herr is survived by her husband, Jeffrey A. Herr; her mother, Selma "Sam", nee Wells, Perucca; her daughter, Rachel Lynn Herr; her son, Vincent A. Herr III; her brother, Pete Perucca; her sister and brother-in-law, Judith "Twig" and Robert Omelson; her nieces and nephews, P.J. Perucca, Lauren Omelson, Anna Omelson, and Clayton Omelson; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Philip and Charleen Herr; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Donna Jean Herr; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donna Jean Herr as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
