2 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison was born in New Orleans, | ||||||
3 | Louisiana on January 14, 1928 to Robert and Lillian Ellison; | ||||||
4 | and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison moved with his family to | ||||||
6 | Chicago, where he was raised in the Englewood community and | ||||||
7 | attended Englewood and Dunbar High Schools; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison began his military career | ||||||
9 | in the United States Navy in 1946; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison played with the Navy's | ||||||
11 | football team as a half back and traveled extensively; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison successfully completed | ||||||
13 | several tours of duty, including service during the Korean War | ||||||
14 | and the Vietnam War; after serving his country for 28 years, he | ||||||
15 | proudly accepted his honorable discharge in 1974; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison married the love of his | ||||||
17 | life, Youko Amai, on April 12, 1954; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison and Youko Amai's union was | ||||||
19 | anointed with the birth of their son, Warren Shelley Ellison, |

| |||||||
1 | on May 12, 1958; and | ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison began a new career in 1975 | ||||||
3 | with the Drug Enforcement Administration, where he worked in | ||||||
4 | communications with the Tactical Enforcement Group until his | ||||||
5 | retirement in 1994; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison was a hard-working and | ||||||
7 | family-oriented man who loved jazz music and good food; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison was called for duty in | ||||||
9 | God's service on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Metro South | ||||||
10 | Hospital; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison was preceded in death by | ||||||
12 | his wife, Youko Amai; his parents, Robert and Lillian Ellison; | ||||||
13 | his oldest brother, John; and his sister, Althia; and | ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Warren Clifford Ellison is survived by his older | ||||||
15 | brother, Irving (Doris); his loving son, Warren S. Ellison; his | ||||||
16 | loving grandson, Warren J. Ellison; his loving, God-sent | ||||||
17 | daughter, Hedy (Eli & Mya); and a host of friends and family; | ||||||
18 | therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |

1 | his family and friends, the passing of Warren Clifford Ellison; | ||||||
2 | and be it further

3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
