| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of Paul Henry Delfs of Waukegan, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on June 20, 2008; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born January 31, 1931 in Lake Forest; he |
| 6 |
| married Virginia Bennett on July 11, 1953 in Waukegan; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the |
| 8 |
| United States Air Force; he was a member of Queen of Peace |
| 9 |
| Church, the Waukegan YMCA, an avid gardener, and loved helping |
| 10 |
| his children; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was retired from the city of Waukegan, after 17 |
| 12 |
| years of employment in the Street Department; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline |
| 14 |
| "Laney" Fields; and his parents; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his |
| 16 |
| children, Sharon (Terry) Brisco, Deborah (Keith Pastell) |
| 17 |
| Delfs, Steven (Janet) Delfs, and Gregory (Jessica) Delfs; his |
| 18 |
| grandchildren, Kainna Quill, and Bryan, Blake, and Chelsie |
| 19 |
| Delfs; his great-grandchild, Marissa Quill; his brother, |
| 20 |
| Robert Delfs; and his sisters, Marie Miller and Mary Anne Boyd; |
