SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of George W. Lacey Sr. of Peoria, who passed
4 away on June 19, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, George W. Lacey Sr. was born in Farmington on May
6 6, 1929, to John and Elizabeth Boldys Lacey Sr.; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He married Dorothy A. Kucavik in Farmington in
8 October 1949; she preceded him in death on October 7, 1998; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He was a member of Plumbers Local 63 and worked
10 for Tobin Brothers and Roger Dunn and Sons, retiring in 1990;
11 he also belonged to the Farmington Moose Lodge, St. Jude
12 Knights of Columbus, Ducks Unlimited, Ducks and Geese Forever,
13 and Limestone Democrats; he was an avid hunter and fisherman,
14 trained Labrador retrievers, and was part of the Farmington
15 High football team; and he was inducted into the Greater Peoria
16 Area Sports Hall of Fame; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and
18 his son, Patrick; and
 
19     WHEREAS, George W. Lacey Sr. is survived by his children,
20 George (Mary) Lacey, Richard Lacey, and Patricia (Steve)

1 Schmidt; his brother, John (Colleen) Lacey; his sisters,
2 Elizabeth "Babe" (Dale) Broadfield and Mary Jo (William)
3 Rogers; and his grandson, Brett Lacey; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of George W. Lacey Sr.; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of George W. Lacey Sr. as a symbol of
10 our sincere sympathy.
