SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Clarence Hays of Bethalto, who passed
4 away on April 19, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays was born on January 10, 1919 in
6 Datto, Arkansas; he was the son of John and Hattie (Denton)
7 Hays; he married the former Iva Lucille Wall in Paragon,
8 Arkansas in 1944; she preceded him in death on September 13,
9 1974; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays served his country with distinction
11 as a member of the United States Army during World War II; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays was an employee of AmerenUE as a
13 lineman for 30 years before his retirement in 1975; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays was a member of the Bethalto
15 Assembly of God Church for several years and attended Cottage
16 Hills Baptist Church; he was a member of the Alton VFW Post
17 1308 in Alton and the International Brotherhood of Electrical
18 Workers; he was a past member of the Wood River Moose Lodge and
19 was very active with the Boys and Girls Club of Bethalto; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays was preceded in death by his wife;

1 his parents; his son, Kenneth Burnett; his sister, Elsie; and
2 his four brothers, Charlie, William, Vess, and Jess; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Clarence Hays is survived by his son and
4 daughter-in-law, William and Elsie Hays; his daughters and
5 son-in-law, Rebecca Walkington and Glenda and Don Boan; his
6 grandchildren and their spouses, Scotty and Missy Borror, Chris
7 and Michelle Borror, and Todd Hays; his five
8 great-grandchildren; his brother, Don Hays; and his
9 daughter-in-law, Mary Burnett; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Clarence Hays; and be it
13 further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Clarence Hays as an expression of
16 our sympathy.
