SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John Kleinschnittger of Godfrey, who
4 passed away on March 27, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Kleinschnittger was born on July 7, 1923 in
6 Alton; he was the son of Leo Albert and Emily Ann (Claudius)
7 Kleinschnittger; he married the former Dorothy R. Johnson on
8 August 30, 1944 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9     WHEREAS, John Kleinschnittger was a prominent building
10 contractor in Madison County for over 50 years; he was voted
11 Builder of the Year in The Telegraph several times; he also
12 built and refurbished many exotic cars during the 1950s and
13 1960s; he remained very active after his retirement; and
 
14     WHEREAS, John Kleinschnittger was an avid boater and built
15 several Chris-Craft boats from raw plans; he was excited to
16 have met Chris Smith III, the grandson of the Chris Craft Boat
17 Company founder, at an antique wood boat show at Tan Tar A,
18 Missouri; and
 
19     WHEREAS, John Kleinschnittger was a member of the Coast
20 Guard Reserve and St. Ambrose Catholic Church; and

1     WHEREAS, John Kleinschnittger is survived by his wife; his
2 daughter, Joan Plummer and her husband, Lee; his son, Steven
3 Kleinschnittger and his wife, Ginger; his grandchildren, Kelly
4 Libbra and her husband, Joe, Kit Plummer and Justin Plummer,
5 Duran Pfeiffer, David Pfeiffer, Trevor Kleinschnittger, and
6 Eric Kleinschnittger; his great-granddaughter, Kaylin
7 Kleinschnittger; his sisters, Marjorie Hodge and her husband,
8 Charles, Carol Jane Kleinschnittger, Shirley Taul and her
9 husband, Harold, and Emily Strebel; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of John Kleinschnittger;
13 and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of John Kleinschnittger as an
16 expression of our sympathy.
