SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Timothy Palen Sr. of Fosterburg, who
4 passed away on March 28, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Timothy Palen Sr. was born on July 13, 1949 in
6 Akron, Ohio; his parents were Edward and Eileen (Jensen) Palen;
7 he married the former Linda Mollet on February 17, 1968 in
8 Alton; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Timothy Palen Sr. retired as a casework supervisor
10 with the Illinois Department of Corrections after 18 years of
11 dedicated service; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Timothy Palen Sr. was a member of Emmanuel Free
13 Methodist Church in Alton; he was well known in his community
14 as a coach, referee, musician, substitute teacher, and election
15 judge; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Timothy Palen Sr. was preceded in death by his
17 parents; his brother, Edward "Chip" Palen; and his sister,
18 Sally Rosack; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Timothy Palen Sr. is survived by his wife; his
20 daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Todd Stendeback and Nicole

1 Palen; his sons and their wives, Timothy and Chiyo Palen Jr.
2 and Stephen and Stephanie Palen; his cherished grandchildren,
3 Brandon, Josh, Jacob, and Abby Palen, Amanda, Jordan, T.J.,
4 Jennifer, and Ana Palen, Michael, Samantha, and James
5 Stendeback, and Tony, Amira, and Aramon Dobbins; his three
6 brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dr. James E. and Shirley
7 Palen, Mike and Sandy Palen, and Joe Palen; and his two sisters
8 and brother-in-law, Diane and Jim Bock and Eileen Palen;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Timothy Palen Sr.; and
13 be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Timothy Palen Sr. as an expression
16 of our sympathy.
