SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Steven Adam Atchison of Roselle, who 
4
passed away on September 15, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Steven Adam Atchison graduated from Lake Park High 
6
School in 1998; after high school, he attended the College of 
7
DuPage in Glen Ellyn for about two years and then joined the 
8
military; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, During his five-year career with the Navy, Steven 
10
Adam Atchison was deployed to Iraq while serving as an air 
11
traffic controller on the U.S.S. Boxer; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Steven Adam Atchison was the recipient of many 
13
medals and ribbons in recognition of his service, including a 
14
Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit 
15
Commendation Ribbon, the Navy "E" Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal, 
16
the National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism 
17
Expeditionary Medal, and two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons; 
18
and

    WHEREAS, Steven Adam Atchison's love of life and ability to 
20
live it to the fullest endeared him to his family members, 
21
friends, and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their

lives in ways they will never forget; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
3
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4
his family and friends, the passing of Steven Adam Atchison; 
5
and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Steven Adam Atchison as an 
8
expression of our sympathy.
