| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of
Robert M. "Bob" Treece of West Frankfort, |
4 |
| who passed away on January 30, 2008; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece was born on July 8, 1924; his |
6 |
| parents were Rolla M. and Ola B. (Garrison) Treece; he married |
7 |
| his high school and college sweetheart, LaDonne Weaver, on |
8 |
| February 25, 1950; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece graduated from West Frankfort High |
10 |
| School in 1942; he attended college at Southern Illinois |
11 |
| University in Carbondale, graduating with a bachelor's degree |
12 |
| in zoology; he was a member of the Chi Delta Chi fraternity; |
13 |
| and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece went into business with his father |
15 |
| at Treece Lumber, where he worked until his retirement; upon |
16 |
| taking over the business, Robert changed the name to Treece |
17 |
| Supply and later to Treece Decorating; the original family |
18 |
| business was established in 1913 and remained open until the |
19 |
| summer of 2004; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece was an active member in his |
21 |
| community; he had served as president of the West Frankfort |
|

| Jaycees and was an active member of the West Frankfort |
2 |
| Community Council; and
|
3 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece was saved and baptized at the First |
4 |
| Baptist Church; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece had a passion for music and loved to |
6 |
| play the flute; he was a member of the Southern Illinois |
7 |
| Concert Band; he also loved family gatherings, his friends, and |
8 |
| fishing; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece was preceded in death by his |
10 |
| parents; his daughter, Donna Lynn Treece Speer; his sister, |
11 |
| Lenorrah (Pat) Brin; and his brother, Rolla Jr.; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece will be missed by his wife of 57 |
13 |
| years, LaDonne; his children, Marsha Hogan and Richard Treece; |
14 |
| his son-in-law, Allen Speer; his grandchildren, Chris and Matt |
15 |
| Hogan, Laura Duckworth, and Robby and David Speer; his |
16 |
| sisters-in-law, Geraldine and Robert Kelley, Joann Williams, |
17 |
| and Marilyn Paulk; and his many nieces and nephews; and |
18 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Treece will be remembered by all who knew |
19 |
| and loved him as a kind and loving husband, father, |
20 |
| brother-in-law, uncle, and friend whose good sense of humor |
21 |
| brought joy into the lives of everyone he knew; therefore, be |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
4 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Robert M. "Bob" Treece; |
5 |
| and be it further
|
6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
7 |
| presented to the family of Robert M. "Bob" Treece as an |
8 |
| expression of our sympathy.
