SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Earl E. Paul, Sr., of Aurora, who passed
4 away on January 7, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Earl E. Paul, Sr., was born March 7, 1923 in
6 Aurora to Bela and Rose Paul; Earl Paul was a veteran of the
7 United States Army and served his country in World War II; he
8 was also known as "Sunshine" and proudly served on the Aurora
9 Police Department for 32 1/2 years; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Earl Paul was very active in the community; he was
11 a past President and member of both the Policemen's Benevolent
12 and Protective Association of Illinois and the Phoenix Club; he
13 also belonged to the Tiger Club and several other policemen
14 associations; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was an avid bowler and will be long remembered
16 for his outstanding cooking, particularly his stuffed
17 cabbages; and he was a devoted husband, father, brother, and
18 grandfather who will be deeply missed; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in
20 1999; his parents; his sisters, Olga Raboine, Caroline Hayes,
21 and Rose Silagy; and his brothers, Robert and William Paul; and

1     WHEREAS, Earl E. Paul, Sr., is survived by his children,
2 Bonnie (Tom) Tinker, Lyda (Dennis) Schmidt, and Earl Paul, Jr.;
3 his two granddaughters, Kristin and Kelli Schmidt; his brother,
4 John (Donna) Paul; and his many nephews and nieces and great
5 nephews and nieces; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of Earl E. Paul, Sr.; and
9 be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Earl E. Paul, Sr., as a symbol of
12 our sympathy.
