2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Robert E. "Bob" Jordan of Naperville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on December 15, 2007; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was born on April 2, 1952 in | ||||||
6 | Aurora; his parents were Clifford and Annie (nee Schmidt) | ||||||
7 | Jordan; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan received his bachelor's degree in | ||||||
9 | Latin from North Central College and his bachelor's degree in | ||||||
10 | Spanish from Northern Illinois University, where he also earned | ||||||
11 | his master's degree; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was a former teacher in the West | ||||||
13 | Aurora School District; at the time of his passing, he was | ||||||
14 | working with students in a District 203 transitional program to | ||||||
15 | help students move from school into the work force; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was an active and devoted member | ||||||
17 | of the Naperville Noon Lions Club after transferring from the | ||||||
18 | Big Rock Lions Club in 1992; he served as Raffle Chairman and | ||||||
19 | Social Services Chairman, where he was instrumental in | ||||||
20 | increasing the budget to over fifty thousand dollars per year; | ||||||
21 | he also served as a board member and as club President from |

1 | 1988 until 1992; he was a very active promoter of the Lions Ski | ||||||
2 | for Sight Program, attending many area zone and club meetings | ||||||
3 | to raise funds for the program, and was always willing to | ||||||
4 | participate in any and all of the clubs fundraising activities; | ||||||
5 | he was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in | ||||||
6 | 2001, the Lions highest honor, in recognition of his devotion | ||||||
7 | to the Lions Club and was the first member of the club to | ||||||
8 | receive the Lions District 1-J, George Lazansky award; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was an active participant in the | ||||||
10 | Organ Transplant Support and Juvenile Diabetes Research | ||||||
11 | Foundation, where his life long struggle with diabetes and his | ||||||
12 | sense of humor served as an inspiration to those in need; and | ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was an active member of St. | ||||||
14 | Timothy Lutheran Church in Naperville, where he participated in | ||||||
15 | CHRP, Men's Bible Study, and the greeting and reading at | ||||||
16 | services; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was a devoted fan of the Chicago | ||||||
18 | Cubs; and | ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents; and | ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Robert E. Jordan is survived by his wife, Peggy |

1 | Martin Jordan; his daughter, Jenny (Thomas) Lemmons; his | ||||||
2 | children, Grace, Victor, and Rosie Yaguchi; his | ||||||
3 | granddaughters, Savannah and Madison Lemmons; his sister, | ||||||
4 | Kathy (Chuck) Lesnik; his nieces, Liz (Paul) Stein and Natalie | ||||||
5 | (Todd) Buelow; and his special cousin, Dale (Andrea) | ||||||
6 | Burchfield; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
9 | his family and friends, the passing of Robert E. Jordan; and be | ||||||
10 | it further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Robert E. Jordan as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our sympathy.
