| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of
F.T. "Mike" Graham of Libertyville, who |
4 |
| passed away on December 29, 2007; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was born on September 10, 1927 in |
6 |
| Gurnee; his parents were Thomas and Anna Graham; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham graduated from Warren High School in |
8 |
| Gurnee in 1945; he attended Blackburn College in Carlinville |
9 |
| and Western Michigan College in Kalamazoo, Michigan; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was a salesman at Miller-Krueger Dodge |
11 |
| in Libertyville for many years; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham served as Supervisor of Libertyville |
13 |
| Township from 1969 until 1989 and from 1997 until 2002; he was |
14 |
| a former member of the Lake County Board, serving for 18 years; |
15 |
| and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was the founder of the first open |
17 |
| space district in the Midwest, persuading Libertyville voters |
18 |
| to borrow nearly $23 million to purchase and preserve land |
19 |
| throughout Lake County; he was widely known for his relentless |
20 |
| pursuit for land preservation; and |
|

| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was a member of St. Joseph Parish in |
2 |
| Libertyville and the Cardinal Stritch Council of the Knights of |
3 |
| Columbus; he was also an active participant at Marytown; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham was preceded in death by his parents; |
5 |
| his brothers, Thomas Graham, Edward Graham, and Walter Graham; |
6 |
| and his sisters, Helen Victor, Elizabeth Drobnick, Mary Miller, |
7 |
| and Peggy Deuel; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, F.T. Graham is survived by his former wife and |
9 |
| dear friend, Geri Graham (nee Yore); his children, Julie |
10 |
| (Jerry) Adzima and Michael (Karen) Graham; his grandchildren, |
11 |
| Stephanie Adzima, Graham Adzima, Kathleen Graham, Mary Graham, |
12 |
| Michael Graham, Patrick Graham, John Graham, and Bridget |
13 |
| Graham; his sister, Ann Skyrius; and his many loving nieces and |
14 |
| nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL |
16 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
17 |
| his family and friends, the passing of F.T. "Mike" Graham; and |
18 |
| be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 |
| presented to the family of F.T. Graham as an expression of our |
21 |
| sympathy.
