SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Ronnie Joe Stritzel of Coello, who passed 
4
away on December 23, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Ronnie Joe Stritzel was born on November 4, 1945, 
6
in Coello; his parents were Adolph "Speed" Stritzel and Mary 
7
(Howell) Stritzel; he married Jessica (Meadows) Stritzel on 
8
June 26, 1965; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, Ronnie Joe Stritzel was the owner of Stritzel 
10
Trucking; he served as a Democrat precinct committeeman; he was 
11
a member of Village of the North City Board from 1965 to 2000; 
12
he served as Fire Chief of the Village of North City from 1987 
13
to 2005; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, Ronnie Joe Stritzel was a member of Coello Baptist 
15
Church; he was a member of the Southern Illinois Coal Belt Fire 
16
Association, the Coello Fire Department, Zeigler Masonic Lodge 
17
1048, Eastern Star 841, and the Shriners; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Ronnie Joe Stritzel was preceded in death by his 
19
parents; his brother, Donnie Stritzel; and his sisters, Sharon 
20
Kay Stritzel and Linda Joiner; and

    WHEREAS, Ronnie Joe Stritzel is survived by his wife and 
2
his children, Annie Stritzel and Sara (James) Filback; 
3
therefore, be it

 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of Ronnie Joe Stritzel; and 
7
be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Ronnie Joe Stritzel as an expression 
10
of our sympathy.
