SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Juanita Leatha Wimberly of Evanston, who passed away on October 26, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Wimberly, fondly known as "Nita Cakes", was the daughter of the late Milton Harrison, Jr, and Bessie Harrison of Evanston; Juanita was a life long resident of Evanston; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Wimberly attended Evanston public schools and graduated from Evanston Township High School on June 16, 1949; and

WHEREAS, She was employed at American Hospital Supply for several years; she later worked for the Evanston Township High School as Security Assistant for 14 years; and

WHEREAS, She was married to Stanton Wimberly who preceded her in death in July 2001; Juanita professed her faith in God at an early age and was a true believer; she held membership at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Evanston; and

WHEREAS, Juanita Wimberly is survived by her children, Stanton (Dianne) Wimberly, Sandra Wright, Karen Wimberly, Craig Wimberly, Evelyn Wimberly, Michael Harrison, and Debret Harrison; her sister, Evelyn Alexander; her brother, Milton Harrison; her fifteen grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and two close family friends whom Juanita regarded as her daughters, Deborah Bell and Laverne Woolridge; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Juanita Wimberly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Juanita Wimberly as a symbol of our sympathy.
