SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of D. Kent Trone of Troy, who passed away on
4 October 25, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, D. Kent Trone was born March 12, 1934, in Sheldons
6 Grove; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Mr. Trone served in the United States Army and
8 received an honorable discharge in 1962; he received his law
9 degree from the University of Illinois in 1960; he practiced
10 law in the Rushville and Edwardsville area for 37 years; during
11 that time, he served as attorney for the Village of Livingston
12 and the Livingston Sanitary District, as well as the village of
13 Marine and the Marine Sanitary District; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Mr. Trone was appointed as government appeal agent
15 for Local Board 166 of the Selective Service System in
16 Edwardsville, serving from 1965 to 1967; he was appointed as a
17 special assistant attorney general of the State of Illinois for
18 Madison County; he served as a trustee on the Board of Trustees
19 of Glen Carbon; he was appointed as an associate judge in
20 Madison County, serving from 1971 to 1975; after his
21 resignation as an associate judge in 1975, he returned to
22 private practice, continuing to work until he retired January

2     WHEREAS, Mr. Trone was licensed to practice law before the
3 Supreme Court of the United States, was a member of the
4 American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association,
5 and the Madison County Bar Association; and
 
6     WHEREAS, D. Kent Trone was preceded in death by his
7 parents, Doane G. Trone and Mabel (Ray) Trone; and his brother,
8 Robert E.L. Trone; he is survived by his wife, Kay, nee Embrey,
9 Trone; his son, Mark D. (Toni) Trone; his daughter, Christine
10 K. (Scott) Stinnett; his grandchildren, Jordan and Lily Trone
11 and Noah and Tanner Stinnett; and his brother, Dennis
12 (Elizabeth) Trone; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 his family and friends, the passing of D. Kent Trone; and be it
16 further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of D. Kent Trone as a symbol of our
19 sympathy.
