SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to hear of the death of Mike Tessaro of Maryville, who passed away on August 30, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Mike Tessaro was born on June 3, 1920 in Maryville; his parents were John and Rose, nee Peila, Tessaro; he married Mildred, nee Short, Tessaro on January 1, 1942; she passed away on February 1, 1978; he married Lorene, nee Fisk, Tessaro, on July 20, 1985; and

WHEREAS, Mike Tessaro was a retired laborer and construction worker; he was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Collinsville; he belonged to the Edwardsville Moose Lodge and was a life member of Labor Local 474; and he was an inductee into the "OLD ROOKIES" Granite City Sports Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Mike Tessaro was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred; his parents, John and Rose; his son, Michael John Tessaro; his daughter, Melanie; his brother, Mike Tessaro; and his sisters, Mary Schlemer and Margie Behrend; and

WHEREAS, Mike Tessaro is survived by his wife, Lorene; his son, Larry Tessaro; his stepson, Michael (Pam) Collins; his daughter, Mrs. Roseann (Luther) Holst; his 7 grandchildren; and his 17 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mike Tessaro will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a good person and neighbor and as a devoted servant of the Lord; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Mike Tessaro; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Tessaro as an expression of our sympathy.
