SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John A. Schrank of Gurnee, who passed
4 away on June 2, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank was born on June 18, 1948 in
6 Waukegan; his parents were Joseph and Viola Schrank; and
 
7     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank received his bachelor's degree in
8 psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign;
9 and
 
10     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank was manager of Mike Schrank's
11 "Smoke N' Gun" in Waukegan; he worked with his brother, Mike,
12 side by side at the store for 35 years, starting in 1971; and
 
13     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank was a member of the Northbrook Gun
14 Club; he was a board member of Crime Stoppers, Friends of the
15 National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, and the Hancock
16 Lake Association; he was an avid skeet shooter and fisherman;
17 and he loved relaxing at his cabin in Harshaw, Wisconsin on
18 Hancock Lake; and
 
19     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank was preceded in death by his
20 father, Joseph; his mother, Viola; and his brothers, Mike and

1 Edward Schrank; and
 
2     WHEREAS, John A. Schrank is survived by his sons, William
3 "Bill" Schrank and Alan Schrank; his beloved life partner,
4 Janie Losch; his sisters-in-law, Joan and Kathy Schrank; and
5 his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of John A. Schrank; and be
9 it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of John A. Schrank as an expression of
12 our sympathy.
