SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Joseph T. McCann of Gurnee, who passed
4 away on June 14, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Joseph T. McCann was born on February 3, 1919 in
6 Kenosha, Wisconsin; his parents were Hugh and Elizabeth McCann;
7 he married Eleanor Meier on January 3, 1941; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Joseph T. McCann was a carpenter for many years on
9 the North shore and retired from S.C. Johnson Wax in 1982;
10 after his retirement, he spent the winter seasons in
11 Brooksville, Florida for 16 years; he was a member of Gurnee
12 Community Church, Gurnee American Legion, and the Computer
13 Club; when he moved to Gurnee in January 1933, he lived in the
14 renowned Mother Rudd House; and
 
15     WHEREAS, During World War II, Joseph T. McCann served in
16 the United States Navy aboard the USS Uranus in the Pacific
17 theatre as an electrician; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Joseph T. McCann was preceded in death by his
19 parents; his brother, Earl McCann; and his sister and
20 brother-in-law, Ed and Sophia Jochims; and

1     WHEREAS, Joseph T. McCann is survived by his wife, Eleanor;
2 his children, Cathy Burleson, Tom (Betty) McCann, and Mary
3 (Jim) Quinn; his grandchildren, Debbie Treadway, Dawn Clemons,
4 Scott and Eric McCann, and Jim and Kyle Quinn; his
5 great-grandchildren, Jessica Ledford and Derrick and Nicky
6 Clemons; his sister, Mabel Passini; and his brother, Bud
7 (Elaine) McCann; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Joseph T. McCann; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Joseph T. McCann as an expression of
14 our sympathy.
