SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ernest Dicig of Winthrop Harbor, formerly of Waukegan, who recently passed away; and

WHEREAS, Ernest Dicig and his wife Kay were married 60 years and valued their friendships and family greatly; and

WHEREAS, Ernie Dicig was a dedicated employee of the US Steel Mill in Waukegan for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, In the late 1970s Ernest Dicig served as Alderman for the Fifth Ward in Waukegan, as well as an assessor for Waukegan Township and Supervisor of Building and Grounds for the City of Waukegan; on his retirement, Ernest Dicig and Kay moved to Winthrop Harbor, where Ernie continued working at Leader Hardware in Zion; and

WHEREAS, Ernest Dicig was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn; and

WHEREAS, Ernest Dicig was the loving father of Katie Brookler-Shupe, Ann Scott, Mary Dicig, and Julie Dicig; the friend and grandfather to Rob Scott, Jennifer Scott-Brown, and Samantha Shoumake; and the great-grandfather to Sophia Scott, Alex Blazon, and Josh Brown; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ernest Dicig; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ernest Dicig as a symbol of our sympathy.
