SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Maureen E. Chaney of Wilmington, who
4 passed away on April 30, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Maureen E. Chaney was born on July 2, 1936 in
6 Peoria; she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Mary
7 (Hollaway) Sharp; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Maureen E. Chaney was employed in the purchasing
9 department at Silver Cross Hospital for over 15 years; she held
10 numerous other local jobs that she always performed at 100
11 percent; she once owned Maureen's Restaurant in Joliet and
12 Chaney's Food Store (formerly Hooper's) in Wilmington; her
13 greatest joy was sharing time with her family and co-workers;
14 she was known as a fantastic cook and nurturer; she loved the
15 Wilmington Wildcats, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears;
16 and
 
17     WHEREAS, Maureen E. Chaney was a former member of the
18 Wilmington School Board; she was very proud of being one of the
19 original committee members to begin WILCO for local students;
20 and
 
21     WHEREAS, Maureen E. Chaney left her family the importance

1 of unconditional love, hard work, family loyalty, and the power
2 to overcome adversity; she was known for sharing her smile and
3 having a positive attitude with all who came into her presence;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, Maureen E. Chaney is survived by her son, James
6 (Bev) Chaney; her daughters, Becky (Rick) Hansen, Pam (Mike)
7 VanDuyne, Michele (Andy) Rush, and Kathy (Steve) Horwath; her
8 grandchildren, Alicia, Curt, T.J., Nick, Michael, Katy,
9 Matthew, Christopher, Stephen, Mickey, Nicole, Bethani, Mark,
10 Corey, Kaylee, Timothy, Aleks, and Joey; her
11 great-grandchildren, Brock, Easton, Karlie, Markie, and
12 Olivia; she is also survived by her former husband, Ron Chaney;
13 and special friends, Nancy Nelson, Evelyn Spinozzi, Joe Holmes,
14 and Babe Proffit; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
15 and other friends; therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18 her family and friends, the passing of Maureen E. Chaney; and
19 be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to the family of Maureen E. Chaney as an expression
22 of our sympathy.
