SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Beatrice Elizabeth Hardy, who passed away
4 on March 31, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Beatrice Hardy was born on December 13, 1919 in
6 Atlanta, Georgia; her parents were the late Richard and Ethel
7 Hardy; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Beatrice Hardy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord
9 at an early age; she was educated in Atlanta; after the
10 beginning of World War II she moved to Hawaii to work as a
11 civilian employee for the Department of the Navy and lived
12 happily in Hawaii for many years; and
 
13     WHEREAS, She married John Ringgold Sr. and together they
14 had a daughter, Suzanne; they later moved to Chicago; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Beatrice Hardy loved to cook and sew; she made her
16 family delicious meals and beautiful clothes with her talents;
17 she retired from the United States Internal Revenue Service as
18 a Revenue Officer after 35 years of service; she was a member
19 of the NAACP and the Eastern Star; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Beatrice Hardy was preceded in death by her

1 parents; her sisters, Vidalia and Mattie, and her brothers,
2 Robert, Joe, and Clarence; she is survived by her daughter,
3 Suzanne; her grandchildren, Amber and Lisa; her sisters, Eloise
4 McCoy and Vera Knowles (James Sr.); her stepchildren, John Jr.
5 and Lucrecia; her first niece, Eloise; and a host of
6 grandchildren, nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews,
7 relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 her family and friends, the passing of Beatrice Elizabeth
11 Hardy; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Beatrice Hardy as a symbol of our
14 sympathy.
