SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Samuel A. Mormino Sr. of Alton, who
4 passed away on March 27, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Samuel Mormino Sr. was born on November 22, 1929
6 in Alton; his parents were Angelo and Susie (Ederatti) Mormino;
7 he married Irene Chiolero on April 30, 1949 at St. Matthew's
8 Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Samuel Mormino Sr. served in the United States
10 Marines from 1950 to 1951 during the Korean War; he was a
11 machinist at Owens-Illinois Machine Shop in Godfrey for 44
12 years, where he retired in 1992; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
14 Alton, and a lifetime member of Alton VFW Post 1308; he was a
15 member of the International Association of Machinists for 44
16 years; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He loved wood crafting and gardening; he was an
18 avid lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs; and he loved spending
19 time with his wife and family; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Samuel Mormino Sr. was preceded in death by his

1 parents; and
 
2     WHEREAS, The passing of Samuel Mormino Sr. will be deeply
3 felt by those who knew and loved him, especially his beloved
4 wife, Irene; his children and their spouses, Michael and
5 Paulette Mormino, Pamela and Timothy Palmer, Stephen and Vicki
6 Mormino, Mark Mormino, Teresa and Lee Reed, Samuel Jr. and
7 Grace Mormino, and Dr. Matthew and Gabrielle Mormino; his
8 grandchildren, Jessica Palmer-Gwaltney, Andrea Reed, Matthew
9 Reed, Spec. Michael Mormino, Lance Cpl. Daniel Mormino, Heather
10 Mormino, Stephanie Mormino, Catherine Mormino, Sammy Mormino,
11 Marty Mormino, and Helen Irene Mormino; his
12 step-granddaughter, Danielle Munroe; his brother and
13 sister-in-law, Raymond and Joyce Mormino; and his
14 brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Martha Chiolero;
15 therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18 his family and friends, the passing of Samuel Mormino Sr.; and
19 be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to the family of Samuel Mormino Sr. as an expression
22 of our sympathy.
