SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of William E. Fielding of Peoria, who passed
4 away on March 21, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William E. Fielding was born September 6, 1954, in
6 East St. Louis, to James and Lillie (Corbett) Fielding; he
7 married Marquita Reynolds in 1982 and she preceded him in
8 death; he later married Judith A. Hatchett on September 6,
9 1997; and
 
10     WHEREAS, William Fielding was a 1978 graduate of Southern
11 Illinois University, Edwardsville; he was a very strong
12 advocate for people with disabilities; he worked tirelessly and
13 sat on several boards, including the Coalition of Citizens with
14 Disabilities of Illinois and the State-Wide Independent Living
15 Counsel; he worked full time for the State of Illinois as an
16 independent living specialist, client assistance program
17 manager, and as an EEOC Officer in Springfield; and
 
18     WHEREAS, William Fielding later moved to Peoria and worked
19 as the Executive Director for the Central Illinois Center for
20 Independent Living; he worked in his spare time as past
21 chairman of the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District Board and
22 as a member of the Easter Seals Board and the Senior Citizen

1 Commission; he retired in March 2002 and became self-employed
2 with Fielding Consultants; and
 
3     WHEREAS, William Fielding leaves to cherish his precious
4 memory his loving and devoted family, which includes his wife,
5 Judith; his sisters, Patricia (Carl) Lowry and Donna (Thomas
6 Leroy Saafir) Fielding; his brother, Michael Fielding; his
7 sons, Darrel Reynolds, Jacques Hatchett, and Sheldon Reynolds;
8 his nephew, who was just like a son, Judea Charlson; his
9 daughter, Jacklyn Hatchett; his grandsons, who were the joy of
10 his life, Ah'Vierre Hatchett and Ah'Vaughn Hatchett; and a host
11 of family and friends too numerous to name; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the passing of William Fielding; and be
15 it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of William E. Fielding as a symbol of
18 our sympathy.
