SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 6

    WHEREAS, During the 94th General Assembly, the Legislative 
3
Task Force on Employment of Persons with Past Criminal 
4
Convictions (hereinafter referred to as the Task Force) was 
5
established  pursuant to House Joint  Resolution 107 for the 
6
purpose of conducting public hearings and examining the 
7
barriers faced by persons with past criminal convictions with 
8
respect to obtaining employment and for the purpose of 
9
evaluating those recommendations made by the Governor's 
10
Statewide Community Safety and Reentry Working Group; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, As of the required reporting date, the Task 
12
Force's work is still ongoing and further investigation is 
13
needed prior to the preparation and submission of its report; 
14
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL 
16
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 
17
CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Legislative Task Force on 
18
Employment of Persons with Past Criminal Convictions, 
19
organized pursuant to House Joint Resolution 107 of the 94th 
20
General Assembly, is hereby reconstituted; and be it further
 
21
    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall be comprised of those 
22
persons appointed pursuant to House Joint Resolution 107 of the

94th General Assembly until such time as those appointing 
2
authorities established in House Joint Resolution 107 appoint 
3
different persons to the Task Force; and be it further
 
4
    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall have the authority, 
5
duties, and purposes as set forth in House Joint Resolution 107 
6
of the 94th General Assembly; and be it further
 
7
    RESOLVED, That no later than December 31, 2008, the Task 
8
Force shall submit a report to the Governor and General 
9
Assembly of its findings and recommendations; and that the Task 
10
Force shall be dissolved after the filing of this report; and 
11
be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13
delivered to the ex-officio members of the Task Force and the 
14
Governor of the State of Illinois.
