Appropriates specified amounts from the Coal Development Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the purposes of capital development of coal resources in the State. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning appropriations.

 

        Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

 

     Section 5. The amount of $18,000,000 is appropriated from the Coal Development Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the specific purposes of acquisition, development, construction, reconstruction, improvement, financing, engineering, architectural and technical planning, and installation of capital facilities comprising of buildings, structures, durable equipment, and land for the purpose of capital development of coal resources within the State, which may include the amending of a grant for a commercial-scale coal gasification project located in Christian County, Illinois that produces electric power and methane.

 

    Section 10. The amount of $17,000,000 is appropriated from the Coal Development Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for the specific purpose of acquisition development, construction, reconstruction, improvement, financing, engineering, architectural and technical planning, and installation of capital facilities comprising of buildings, structures, durable equipment, and land for the purpose of capital development of coal resources within the State, which may include the awarding of grants for commercial-scale coal gasification projects located within the State of Illinois.

 

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
