| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 10-2.1-31 as follows:
|

| Sec. 10-2.1-31. Emergency medical technician licensure. |
| 8 |
| The corporate authorities of any municipality may require that |
| 9 |
| all firefighters hired by the municipality on or after the |
| 10 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General |
| 11 |
| Assembly be licensed as an EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P under the |
| 12 |
| Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act.
