| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2733

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2733 on page 56, by |

| replacing lines 11 through 23 with the following:

| "(14) No cost shall be a redevelopment project cost in |
| 5 |
| a redevelopment project area if used to demolish, remove, |
| 6 |
| or substantially modify a historic resource, after the |
| 7 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General |
| 8 |
| Assembly, unless no prudent and feasible alternative |
| 9 |
| exists. "Historic resource" for the purpose of this item |
| 10 |
| (14) means (i) a place or structure that is included or |
| 11 |
| eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic |
| 12 |
| Places or (ii) a contributing structure in a district on |
| 13 |
| the National Register of Historic Places. This item (14) |
| 14 |
| does not apply to a place or structure for which |
| 15 |
| demolition, removal, or modification is subject to review |
| 16 |
| by the preservation agency of a Certified Local Government |
| 17 |
| designated as such by the National Park Service of the |
