Amends the County Care for Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act. Provides that the county board of any county with a 3-member county board for
care and treatment of persons with a developmental
disability may provide that that board shall consist of 5 members. Sets forth the terms of the additional members. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The County Care for Persons with Developmental |
5 |
| Disabilities Act is amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
|

| (55 ILCS 105/3) (from Ch. 91 1/2, par. 203)

| Sec. 3. County board for care and treatment of persons with |
8 |
| a developmental disability.
|
9 |
| (a) When any county has authority to levy a tax for the |
10 |
| purpose of this
Act, the presiding officer of the county board |
11 |
| with the advice and consent of
the county board, shall appoint |
12 |
| a board of
3 directors who shall administer
this Act. The board |
13 |
| shall be designated the "(name of county) County Board for
Care |
14 |
| and Treatment of Persons with a Developmental
Disability". The |
15 |
| original appointees shall be appointed for terms expiring,
|
16 |
| respectively, on June 30 in the first, second and third
years |
17 |
| following their
appointment as designated by the appointing |
18 |
| authority. All succeeding terms
shall be for 3 years and |
19 |
| appointments shall be made in like manner. Vacancies
shall be |
20 |
| filled in like manner for the balance of the unexpired term. |
21 |
| Each
director shall serve until his successor is appointed. |
22 |
| Directors shall serve
without compensation but shall be |
23 |
| reimbursed for expenses reasonably incurred
in the performance |
