Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that nonresidents (as well as residents) may apply for an apprentice hunter license. Provides that apprentice hunters may hunt under the supervision of a nonresident (as well as a resident) validly licensed parent, guardian, or grandparent. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning wildlife.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Wildlife Code is amended by changing Section |
5 |
| 3.1-5 as follows: |

| Sec. 3.1-5. Apprentice Hunter License Program. |
8 |
| (a) Beginning 120 days after the effective date of this |
9 |
| amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly, the Department |
10 |
| shall establish an Apprentice Hunter License Program. The |
11 |
| purpose of this Program shall be to extend limited hunting |
12 |
| privileges, in lieu of obtaining a valid hunting license, to |
13 |
| persons interested in learning about hunting sports. |
14 |
| (b) Any resident or nonresident who is at least 10 years |
15 |
| old may apply to the Department for an Apprentice Hunter |
16 |
| License. The Apprentice Hunter License shall be a one-time, |
17 |
| non-renewable license that shall expire on the March 31 |
18 |
| following the date of issuance. |

| (c) For persons aged 10 through 17, the Apprentice Hunter |
20 |
| License shall entitle the licensee to hunt while supervised by |
21 |
| a validly licensed resident or nonresident parent, guardian, or |
22 |
| grandparent. For persons 18 or older, the Apprentice Hunter |
23 |
| License shall entitle the licensee to hunt while supervised by |
